Come join author Jenny Baertsch of Baertsch Books at the Winona Area Humane Society!
On August 19th, in recognition of “International Homeless Pets Day,” we will be hosting a special reading at WAHS. Jenny will read chapters of her book Junkyard Tough: A “Tail” of Bravery, inspired by her very own cat who was once a stray kitten!
In each session, children & their parent or chaperone will:
Join WAHS staff for a brief tour and ‘behind-the-scenes’ look at animal rescue work
Visit and play with adoptable cats for 10-15 minutes
Enjoy a snack while listening to Junkyard Tough
Wrap up with a brief Q & A about the shelter, and opportunity to purchase Junkyard Tough. Autographed copies will be available for $9.99.
Two times are available, 11am-12pm and 12:30-1:30pm, and reservations are required by August 17th. There are spaces for 8 kids per session. Reserve your child’s spot at: signupgenius.com/go/10C094BAFAA2FA6FEC16-read
