The Beagle Brigade
On April 29th, Big Dog Ranch Rescue and Center for a Humane Economy announced an agreement to transfer 1,500 beagles from Ridglan Farms. Our organization was contacted later that day to confirm selection as a rescue partner in the historic effort, and on May 5th, twenty beagles arrived in Winona — starting their path to become beloved companions.
There are so many caring individuals invested in the beagles’ story, cheering them on every step of the way. To share the dogs’ milestones and encourage the community to follow along, we’ve created this Beagle Brigade page for all beagle-related information, FAQs, and support options.
Reuniting Pets and their People: A Community Effort
Facilitating successful reunions between missing pets and their families is a central mission of Winona Area Humane Society – and it all begins with getting information shared as quickly as possible. This year, WAHS partnered with PawBoost, a free service with the largest lost & found pet database. Every stray animal that comes to WAHS is automatically shared in the database, reducing reliance on social media as the sole source of information and getting more animals seen.
Responsible Animal Guardian Month
Welcoming a pet into your life is so much more than sharing space with an adorable, fluffy buddy! While their companionship is priceless, there’s no denying the fact that it requires time, dedication, financial responsibility, and consistency. May, designated as Responsible Animal Guardian Month, is a perfect time to discuss all that’s involved in caring for pets.
