About Shrimp:
Have you ever heard the phrase, “Good things come to those who wait?” Well, that’s the purrfect way to describe earning the trust of Shrimp. Shrimp’s a feline with a luxurious buff orange & white coat, and she’s squarely between the kittenhood and adulthood phases of life.
Shrimp’s shelter journey began at a few months old, when she was found living as part of a feral cat colony. Shrimp, her brothers, and sisters were brought to safety where they swiftly went into fostering for the beginning of socialization. Following her foster stay, Shrimp integrated into one of our front cat bays where she reconnected with her siblings – and made new friends with fellow teenage kittens.
While shelter volunteers and staff spend time near Shrimp and enjoy calm moments together, she hasn’t felt fully comfortable to decompress and let her guard down around people yet. What she really needs is a quiet home, away from the daily hustle and bustle. A place where there’s one, or maybe a few familiar faces, with whom she can develop a baseline of trust and patient understanding.
Several of Shrimp’s siblings have progressed to home placements, and we know the same is possible for her. She’s come so far already since the even more fearful kitten she used to be. But time, patience, and kindness are going to be key.
Shrimp’s waiting for someone who understands that she may eventually blossom into a friendly, affectionate feline around her person, or she may remain a quiet, independent roommate – and is okay with either outcome. She has great feline-to-feline social skills and could be an excellent companion for a more confident cat.
