About Scotty:
Scotty is everything you could want in a forever best friend: he’s loyal, affectionate, attentive, and loves the peaceful home life. He just needs the right person by his side to help him feel comfortable and confident!
Scotty originally arrived with his mother and sister, and they’d been his main sources of comfort. The transition to the shelter environment was difficult, but each day he branched out and began developing bonds with caretakers — one of whom he’s currently being fostered by until an adopter comes along.
When first meeting Scotty, he’ll likely come off as very shy and uncertain. He didn’t experience a lot of socialization in early life and may take a few visits to develop familiarity. However, once a strong foundation of trust is established, he transforms into a different dog. His foster attests to that in the description below!
From Scotty’s foster: “I truly can’t say enough good things about him. He is 100% cat-approved, potty trained, and the most cuddly boy ever. Wherever you go, he follows. He loves car rides (as long as he can lie down - otherwise he gets nervous). He stays very close, right by your side. He also loves the bed, pillows, and anything that smells like his person.”
The ideal home for Scotty is one that’ll demonstrate patience, understanding, and comfort. He’d likely thrive in a household with a dog friend to lean on. Building confidence is key to Scotty’s long-term success, and we know there’s someone who can help him achieve this goal — gaining a loyal, one-of-a-kind BFF in the process.
