About Ginny:
Two year old Ginny is the very definition of a tender-hearted, affectionate cat, ready to give her devotion to anyone who makes her feel comfortable and safe. She eagerly awaits that special forever person who’ll gladly spend each and every day by her side.
Ginny had been surviving outdoors in a rural area, originally thought to be a feral cat. However, once she felt safe and could let her guard down a little bit, her caretakers quickly realized that wasn’t the case. Ginny is, in fact, one of the sweetest snuggle bugs we’ve had at Winona Area Humane Society.
She’s on the more reserved side initially and won’t approach people first, but responds very well when she’s slowly greeted – allowing her to build gradual familiarity. Once Ginny trusts you, she turns on her purr motor, can’t get enough pets, and progresses from there. She may even climb into your lap and tuck her face under an arm for added safety.
Ginny’s experienced mixed reactions with other cats; she lived harmoniously with others for a few weeks, then had a difficult time when her personal space bubble was invaded and is now enjoying a quiet solo space. While her cat-to-cat tolerance may depend on adjustment time, slow introduction, and individual personalities, she may do best as the only cat.
Ginny seeks a calm, understanding family; one that’s willing to let her adjust in her own time, recharge in her personal space when she needs to, and encourage affection when she feels comfortable. Once you’re in Ginny’s trusted inner circle of people, she’s the best friend you could ever hope for. Apply below to meet this sweetheart!
