Information: male, tricolor Shepherd mix, approximately 1 year old, medium size (44lbs currently), up-to-date on vaccinations, neuter + microchip will be scheduled soon (included in adoption)

About Scout:

The best boy, Scout, formally requests to be your buddy for life! Scout is always up for the next walk, adventure, or lap dog cuddle time – as long as he’s with his people, he’s a happy camper. 

Scout is a young dog who came to WAHS through abandonment within Winona along with his brother, Ranger. When their family didn’t come forward, they began their journey to find loving, dedicated homes who truly care for them.

Once he’s gotten his daily energy out, Scout’s a loving, sweet cuddle bug. He wants all the pets and love from humans at all times! And he feels most secure when people are around. He’s done well with people of a variety of ages, from children to older adults.

While we can’t say for sure how Scout would interact with other pets since his background history is unfortunately unknown, he’s shown signs of potentially doing well with other dogs and hasn’t been reactive to their presence here in the shelter. Scout didn’t pay much attention to the shelter cats, but he does have a high prey drive for squirrels and for that reason may not be the best fit around small pets. 

Scout’s ideal home is one that’s prepared to continue his basic skills training & leash manners, and a family ready to provide him with plenty of daily activity since he’s a medium to high energy guy.
