About Louis:

The transformation of Louis is nothing short of incredible, thanks to an entire team’s dedication and Louis’ hard work. He began his shelter journey with an uncertain future, and he’s now well on his way to leading a successful, fulfilling life. 

Within his first year, Louis experienced a level of shuffling and instability that’s difficult to comprehend. He was passed around from place to place, never knowing the feeling of safety, a stable home, or a trusted person. This left Louis in a state of confusion, with high anxiety and a lot of pent up energy.

For Louis’ long-term success, it was vital to start him on a behavioral training program. Thankfully, he responded to it with success! He now has basic commands fully mastered, and he’s perfected his leash manners. In addition to honing his skills, Louis has done well meeting new people. He demonstrates his affections by leaning into you or cuddling up.

Louis is one of the more dog-friendly pups in the shelter, having good introductions with pretty much everyone he’s met. It’d do wonders for his wellbeing to have a well-matched dog friend in the home.

Being a high-energy lab mix, and especially considering his past, it’s important for Louis’ future family to continue training and enrichment, keeping him busy with activities and nose-related brain games. 

We share Louis’ history not to scare anyone off, but to highlight just how far he’s come. Equipped with the right tools and determination of those around him, Louis has been able to thrive and grow. He’s now set up for success, waiting for the right person to come along and complete his story.
