Good with older kids - too strong (and occasionally jumpy) for younger kids

Big Mac’s large size is matched only by his outstanding personality; his sociability with people is a top favorite characteristic. He loves everyone he interacts with, whether they’re a familiar face or a stranger to befriend, allowing him to quickly move up the volunteer interaction ranks and make even more friends!
With that said, Big Mac definitely prefers spending time with people over fellow dogs and cats. He’s seeking a cat-free home, and may prefer to be an only dog, too; he hasn’t preferred the company of canines here at the shelter, but it depends on the individual dog and how their introduction goes.
Big Mac displays an adoration for his favorite stuffies, never missing an opportunity to show off his favorite toys or carry them around for emotional support. He’ll also try to entice anyone into an endless game of tug, expertly utilizing his weight to win that battle.
The ideal home for Big Mac is one on the moderately active side – he’s considered a medium to high energy dog. Big Mac enjoys a good bit of exercise each day, with mandatory walks and playtime to keep him enriched and gradually get to a healthy weight. Although his leash manners are great, he will pull to get to something he wants, so it’s essential he has adopters prepared for his physical strength.
Big Mac was abandoned by his former owner, so he’s more than ready to meet a person or family who’s truly dedicated to him for life.
