Luka came to WAHS through Winona Animal Control, healing from a significant injury on his leg. Each day of his recovery, Luka became more and more comfortable around his caretakers. By the time he was healed, Luka had built trust with several people and upgraded to the front adoptable cat bays. 

Luka gets nervous around lots of commotion, loud noises, and sudden movements. His self-protection instincts are still at work from trying to survive the outdoor life, so he often guards himself and hangs back from the crowd. But in the quiet moments after you build trust with him, my oh my does this boy know how to show the love. He’ll purr and make biscuits endlessly, all while curling up next to you and giving forehead boops of gratitude. Luka adores chin scratches and will happily roll around. Attention must be given on Luka’s terms; he’ll let you know when it’s time to pause, or when he feels fully at ease.

With Luka’s initially hesitant demeanor and uncertainty around commotion, he’s best suited for a home on the quiet side. He’d be an ideal addition to an adult-only home (or one with older kids) seeking a peaceful lap cat.
